Cooling Solution

The Issue

One of our stakeholders had been requested to design and install a new food processing and packaging line for a major preserved fruit manufacture based in Scotland.

As part of the new facility a supply of chiller water was required to cool the various parts of the production equipment prior to the preserve being packaged into 1kg containers.

Should the product enter the packaging line above 12⁰c the contents would undergo blooming, which is unacceptable to the market place. This would also lead to product degradation and rejection by quality control.

The Solution

Our team of experienced project managers and engineers fully surveyed the site and suggested the following be installed:

1 x Tetris 2- 29.2

1 x Chiller pump

1 x 3000lt Weir Tank. c/w 6 x 4” Flanged connections, Drain, overflow, mains water makeup valve & housing and a 520mm Square Manway access point.

Outcomes

The client was happy as there was very minimal downtime and their facility now had a new modern, effective and efficient cooling solution.
